¶ Software requirements
This section outlines the minimum system requirements you need to run ur-scape on:
¶ Windows
Windows 7 or newer
DirectX11 capable GPU
1 GB of hard drive space
2 GB RAM
¶ MacOS
macOS High Sierra 10.13 or newer
Metal capable Intel and AMD GPUs
1 GB of storage space
8 GB RAM
¶ ur-scape Installation
The ur-scape platform can be downloaded from Urban Rural Systems Web as a zip file.
¶ Windows
Extract the zipped ur-scape file into a location of your choice (e.g. c:\ur-scape on Windows or /ur-scape on MacOS).
The ur-scape application folder contains several items, of which users will only interact with two items (on Windows) or three items (on MacOS):

For both Windows and MacOS:
- Data folder: this folder comprises key files and subfolders that the user should be familiar with to modify/upload data onto ur-scape.

For Windows only:
- urscape.exe: this is the executable file that users can double-click to run ur-scape.
- For MacOS only:
- Install.scpt: this is the script that allows users to install ur-scape on macOS
- urscape.app: this is the executable file that users can double-click to run ur-scape.
The other files/folders support the backend operations of ur-scape. Any modifications to them may affect the operation of ur-scape. Users should disregard these items.
Extract the zipped ur-scape file into a location of your choice (e.g. /ur-scape).
¶ Running ur-scape
¶ Windows
Double-click on the 'urscape.exe' file to open ur-scape.
¶ MacOS
- Double-click on the
Install.scptscript. - Click on the
Run the Scripticon at the top. - Wait for a while until you see
""in the "Results" panel below. - Double-click on the 'urscape.app' file to open ur-scape.
