The Inspector tool displays and summarizes cell values along inspection lines or within inspection areas.
Step 1: Activate the Tool
- Click on the 'Inspector' tool to activate it.
Step 2: Select Inspection Mode
- Two inspection modes are available (Line mode is selected by default):
- Line: Display and summarize cell values along inspection lines.
- Area: Display and summarize cell values within inspection areas.
- On selecting a mode, the panel updates to reflect the functionalities available:
- Line: Transect chart, 'Draw Line Inspector' and 'Delete Inspector' buttons .
- Area: 'Draw Area Inspector' and 'Delete Inspector' buttons.
Step 3: Select Drawing Tool
- Line:
- Click on the 'Draw Line Inspector' button and move cursor towards 'Interactive Map' area.
- Click on a point of the map to start drawing the inspection line.
- Click on another point of the map to complete drawing the inspection line over multiple cells.
- To move an inspection line around the 'Interactive Map' area, click on the line if it is not yet focused, otherwise click and drag the line.
- To move the endpoints of an inspection line around the 'Interactive Map' area, click on the line if it is not yet focused, otherwise click and drag any of the endpoints.
- Area:
- Click on the 'Draw Area Inspector' button and move cursor towards 'Interactive Map' area.
- Use a polygon or free-form lasso to draw an inspection area over multiple cells.
- Click to select an area to focus on.
Step 4: Delete Inspector
- Click on the 'Delete Inspector' button and an 'X' icon will appear on the inspection line or area.
- Click on the 'X' icon to delete the inspection line or area.
Step 5: Explore Output
- Each inspection mode has its own set of output modes.
- Line - Summary Type:
- Selected Line: Displays and summarizes the value of cells along the selected inspection line.
- All Lines Combined: Displays and summarizes the value of cells for all inspection lines combined.
- Correlation: Compute and displays the correlation coefficient between data layers using Spearman correlation method.

- Summary Type:
- Selected Area: Displays and summarizes the value of cells within the selected inspection area.
- All Areas Combined: Displays and summarizes the value of cells for all inspection areas combined.

- Note: If Contour tool is active and a contour is selected, users can use the Area Inspector tool to show the selected contour's summary.
