This section will outline main part of the user interface and provide futher navigation to each topic.
¶ Data Layers Panel
Data Layers Panel gives user overview of all available datasets for a given site, and allows him to interact with layers through following UI elements:
- Data Layer Setup dialog helps organize Data Layers.
- Collapse/Expand Group collapse / expand data layer group.
- Layer Toggle activate / deactivate data layer.
- Layer Filter Panel allows user to filter data
- Layer Info Panel shows metadata for data layer
¶ Site Browser
Site Browser is the list of available sites with at least one dataset. User can explore the side by clicking on the name of the site and map will automatically pan and zoom to the desired destination
¶ Central Map
Central frame with virtual map puts together spatially datasets activated in Data Layer Panel as well as spatial outcomes from Tool Panel. User can control map by:
- UI Features as Zooming, Background Selection, Inspecting data.
- Mouse Control as Zooming, Pamming and Rotating.
- Collapsible Button for closing panels.
- Map Info about current zoom and mouse position.
¶ Tools Panel
Tool Panel is the list of available prescripted tool which allows user to explore different scenarios base on his envisioned strategy. Control features of the Output Panel are dependent on the selected tool and it will be described together.
In v0.9.82 Beta release, ur-scape comes with several tools:
- The Contours Tool demarcates areas where defined datasets intersect spatially.
- The Planning Tool allows exploration of hypothetical scenarios by using various typologie
- The Reachability Tool generates time-based travel isochrone maps.
- The Timeline Tool allows user to virtually travel through the data in time.
- The Word Cloud Tool is designed to visualize spatial text data from API sources.
- The Municipal Budget Tool evaluates the distribution of municipal budget for participatory planning.
- The Inspector Tool allows user to display and summarize cell values along an inspection line or area.
- The Export Tool allows user to export content to various formats.
- The Network Disruption Analysis Tool enables urban designers and planners to anticipate the impacts of a variety of disruption scenarios on cities' road network.
- The Graticule Tool allow user to have a grid overlayed over the map area.
- The Scales and Locations Bookmark Tool allow user to save the current map scale or map location into a list and restore selected map scale or map location when needed
